Note: Was going to do the blogpost about walkins, spiritual phenomena, awesome humans, and whether or not you can refuse to forgive evil-doers in the world from
meepalicious's topic but an entry on
multiplicity made us decide to write about headspace instead.
We consider our headspace to be a cross between the World Gating Facilities in the Young Wizards series and Howl's Moving Castle[The Miyazaki one]. A lot of the way both of these work is fairly similar.
Most of our origins were in soulbonding. This is how each "gateway" was "rooted" as they say in the Young Wizards series. Of course, gateways can be de-rooted and off-set, but it tends to make things very troublesome. Least of which because these gateways are stubborn entities in themselves. Once something makes itself known it doesn't really like being brushed into a cupboard, you know.
Each gateway for us links into the entranceway, a long hallway with many doors branching off, a staircase up and a trapdoor into the floor that opens to reveal stairs going down, at the end of the hall is a large wooden door and a dial-turn for each verse:
America also known as The Front. Generally if you see us referring to "American Names" this means "Front name" which is usually only used by those of us who are fictives with really obviously fictional names.
Multiverse A which consists of Kingdom Hearts, Disney, and Final Fantasy Verses, and the Modern World, as well as a subset of universes known simply as The Waking World.
Multiverse B which is the YuGiOh! verse crossed with the Modern World crossed with Harry Potter. (Vivian and Bakura can explain this one at another time.)
Loveless Verse
Princess Tutu Verse
The Pretear Verse
The Castlevania Verse
The Bridger-Crawford Verse
The Kingdom of Rossiya
The Willers Verse
and the Naruto Verse with some historical differences from the canon.
Anyways, each floor of the common house also contains something.
On the first floor to the left of the "entryway" there is a room called the "Candle Room". This is basically a mini chapel to honor the dead and to pray for the living. The reason it is named such is that rather than use religious artifacts each prayer is typically done by lighting a candle or a stick of incense or both. The room is filled with shelves of lit and unlit candles and seems to always have room for more prayers.
Across from the doorway, is another room with another big door. That is the library. Lots of shelves of books on just about everything. From fiction to alchemy to old portrait books to biographies. There's also an upright piano and an old record player in this room with a shelf of music books & records. The library furniture consists mostly of velvet-y arm chairs and sofas surrounding an Oriental rug.
Then further down the hall from these too rooms is a doorway on the left to a more "modern" gaming/TV room with a TV [with a videogame system], a tabletop gaming system table, and a crafts table. Across from this doorway is the doorway to the kitchen/dining room. The dining room table looks vaguely like King Arthur's feast table only not quite as long and it doesn't have that fancy chairs. There is a bar with storage cabinets where you can find beer, red wine, and rose wine, as well as mixing materials for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
And the kitchen is pretty much like a normal kitchen, though its fitted similar to a mansion's due to the number of mouths needed to be fed... and you'll find some interesting things in the large fridge and pantry due to a few members with very specific diets. Everything foodwise is labelled.
Now back out into the hall way. We're going to go downstairs first.
Down here there are two things. One is the "gym/training rooms". Zetsu gives taijutsu lessons down here and Soma practices his swordsmanship. There's also a tunnel towards an underground spring.
THe other thing in the basement is the labs, which are used for weaponry restoration, alchemy, and some herbal-type chemistries for medicines.
Upstairs are rows of bedrooms, each decorated to suit the roommates.
